             68-15856, Boeing build number B-568, was a CH-47C helicopter. The U.S. Army acceptance date was 15 January 1969. 68-15856 accumulated 4,278.0 aircraft hours. In January 1969, 68-15856 was ferried to the New Cumberland Army Depot (NCAD), Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for modification before being deployed to the Republic of Vietnam (RVN). In June 1969, 68-15856 was assigned to the 179th Assault Support Helicopter Company (ASHC) "Shimpboats", located at Pleiku, RVN. In July 1971, 68-15856 was transferred to the 178th ASHC "Boxcars" located at Chu Lai, RVN. In March 1972, after 1,500.0 combat aircraft hours and three years in country, 68-15856 was transferred to the Depot, Air Vietnam, in Saigon, RVN, and upgraded to a Super-C. In July 1972, 68-15856 was transferred to the 180th ASHC "Big Windy" located at An Son, RVN. In January 1974, 68-15856 was repatriated after a four and a half year tour and 2,040.0 combat aircraft hours, and received an overhaul at the Boeing facilities located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In August 1974, 68-15856 was assigned to the 180th ASHC, at this time having been relocated to Schwabisch Hall, in the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) (West Germany). In February 1985, after 10 years in country, 68-15856 was loaded on to a C-5A, repatriated and transferred to the 147th ASHC "Hillclimbers", Barbers Point, on the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. At some point, the 147th ASHC was re-designated B Company, 214th Aviation Regiment - "Hillclimbers". On 24 July 1990, 68-15856 was home again after 21 years of serving her country around the world. On 24 April 1991, 68-15856 was inducted into the D model program and converted to 90-00212. Data from Historical Records.
