24. FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Findings
A. PRIOR TO THE LANDING THE CREW CHIEF ASKED THE PILOT TO LAND SO THAT HE WOULD BE ABLE TO TAXI FOREWARD AFTER THE LOAD HAD BEEN SHOVED OFF. B. THE PILOT LANDED FACING UPHILL. C. THE LANDING AREA WAS SOD AND SLOPED. D. AFTER LANDING ROLLERS WERE PLACED ON RAMP. THE ROLLERS REACHED FROM RAMP HINGE TO ONE THIRD THE WAY DOWN THE RAMP EXTENSION. E. THE LOAD WAS TOO HEAVY TO SLIDE ONCE IT REACHED THE END OF THE ROLLERS. F. AT NO TIME DID THE PILOT EXCEED THE AIRCRAFT'S LIMITATIONS. G. THE PRACTICE OF TAXING AWAY FROM A LOAD IS AN ACCEPTABLE TECHNIQUE OF UNLOADING CARGO.บบ
Recommendations
1. PILOTS SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION LANDING ZONE CONDITIONS, ALONG WITH AIRCRAFT CARACTERISTICS, WHEN SELECTING THE METHOD WITH WHICH TO DISEMBARK CARGO. 2. WHEN IT IS NOT PRACTICAL TO TAXI CLEAR OF A LOAD, SUFFICIENT ROLLERS SHOULD BE USED TO MOVE THE LOAD COMPLETELY CLEAR OF THE AIRCRAFT.บบ
