In the photographs that follow, 92-00476 is undergoing maintenance to repair battle damage received during the war on terrorism in Afghanistan. Flown by some true american heroes whose story may never be fully revealed, 92-00476 received damage - yet was still able to survive the encounter with the enemy - during the battle to take Takur Ghar [Objective Ginger]. It is understood that rocket propelled grenades (RPG) inflicted the damage on the left and right sides of the aircraft near the cockpit. Other photographs show bullet holes (marked in red) and electrical wiring damage. |
