Outhouse |
They named her "Outhouse". We nicknamed 060 "Outhouse" after a number of toilet-related incidents occurred on-board. During Operation Bulldog Bite in the Pech Valley, a pilot had an "accident" in the cockpit between lifts, not wanting to break the rhythm of the operation. On another assault mission with the Afghan National Army, one Afghan soldier had similarly wet himself in the cabin. A few days later, working with Special Operations soldiers who had a Combat Action Dog (CAD) with them, the dog relieved itself on the ramp and the tail gunner, SPC Reggie Morris, almost sat in it. A few weeks after that, in support of French allies, 060 had landed in one of their FOBs when their sister ship landed next to them, they blew over an outhouse which struck 060 on the #2 side just below the engine. I originally wanted to call her "Double Vision" due to the fact that no matter which way you read her tail number, it ALWAYS says 0908060, but after all these incidents, I couldn't think of a better name for her. SGT Christopher J. Utter, November 2011. |
