Boeing MH-47G Model Chinook Helicopters

19 September 2010: Ukranian Special Forces exit a U.S. Army MH-47G Chinook helicopter during a rehearsal for the opening exercise of Jackal Stone 10 in Poland. Jackal Stone 10, hosted by Poland and Lithuania, was an annual international special operations forces exercise held in Europe and coordinated by U.S. Special Operations Command Europe. 56 MH-47G helicopters were produced as of 31 July 2010. All airframes were assigned to elements of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) - "Nightstalkers".

 

As of 31 July 2010, three MH-47G helicopters were no longer on the rolls. 03-03729 was lost in the State of Georgia when it struck a tower. 04-03747 experienced brown-out conditions during takeoff and crashed in Afghanistan while on a mission. It is unknown what caused the demise of 05-03751.
