At some point, in early 2009, 07-08041 was deployed with the "Flippers" in support of contingency operations during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). As of 15 August 2009, the last known location of 07-08041 was at Kandahar, Afghanistan. Aircraft status: Flyable. |

April 2009: CH-47F Chinook helicopter 07-08041 gets the aft pylon reinstalled after being transported to Afghanistan. Note that the aft transmission does not have to be removed in order to disassemble the Chinook helicopter for strategic air transport as it was in previous versions of the aircraft.
