The CH-47 Chinook Forward Pylon

 

 

             Located in the Forward Pylon Area of the CH-47 Chinook are the Forward Transmission Package, First and Second Stage Flight Control Mixing Units, "Boomerrang" Bellcrank, Forward Pivoting and Swiveling Upper Dual Boost Actuators, Number One Flight Boost Hydraulic Power Control Module, Number One Flight Boost Hydraulic System Reservoir, Number One Synchronizing Shaft (Sync or Drive Shaft), Number One Power Transfer Unit (PTU), Brake Accumulator, and various odds and ends that allow the Chinook helicopter to function.
