1 February 2011: CH-47F Chinook helicopter 07-08738 receives an engine wash at Wheeler Army Airfield (PHHI), Oahu, Hawaii. Solvent, used to remove oil and dirt deposits from the inside of the engine, is pumped in via an engine wash kit (yellow item on ground). Once in, the solvent is allowed to soak for approximately 20 minutes and then fresh water is flushed through the engine to remove all the contaminents. Upon completion, the engines are operated to dry out the internal portion of the powerplant. The fellow on the ground is rinsing the excess solvent off the side of the airframe to prevent staining of the aircraft paint. Click-N-Go Here to view a larger image.

14 September 2011: CH-47F Chinook helicopter 07-08738 rests on the ramp in the Army National Guard parking area after assignment to the "Voyagers". The aircraft was undergoing preflight for a mission in support of qualification training conducted by members of the S3 Incorporated New Equipment Training (NET) Team of aircrews assigned to the "Voyagers". The following CH-47F Chinook helicopters were fielded to B Company - "Hillclimbers", 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion (GSAB), 25th Infantry Division, located on Wheeler Army Airfield (PHHI), Island of Oahu, in the State of Hawaii, beginning in November 2010 and used to support the unit train-up. Airframes are routinely reassigned as necessary so there is no telling where there are now.
